Looking forward to getting to know the locals!
I joined the company in April 2017 and am the manager of the stage technology department. In addition to overseeing the resident technical staff dispatched to facilities that Theatre Workshop operates or is contracted to operate throughout Japan, I also work on stage technology for independent projects that we have planned and am allowed to do technical management at Yurihonjo City Cultural Exchange Center Kadare in Akita Prefecture. I am happy when the audience is pleased and the project continues into the next year. And I also enjoy the opportunity to interact with the local people.
As for consulting for theaters and halls, we help each property plan its stage facilities. It's like consulting on everyone's problems. Normally, consultants are not often involved in theaters after construction is completed, but at Theatre Workshop, I sometimes stay onsite as a stage technical staff member even after the theater opens, and based on my own experience as a lighting technician in the field for many years, I am able to look five or ten years into the future to make sure the customer can easily use the I make proposals that are easy for the customer to use, with an eye to the next five or ten years. I feel a sense of accomplishment when a single fixture is successfully delivered, taking care not to run out of a single cord or screw.
My previous employer was a public hall, and as the manager of the facilities management section, I was responsible for the entire team while uniting the technicians. I had no experience in building a building from scratch, but I had worked with Theatre Workshop before, and after joining the company, I once again feel that they are a great team. I joined them, and together we are on the edge of our seats, adding an extra element from the stage technician's point of view, while experiencing the sense of anticipation and the weight of responsibility toward the completion of the project. I am still enjoying myself as a newcomer in a vivacious way.
