In recent years, the phrase “realization of a symbiotic society” seems to be used frequently among the numerous social issues. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the administrative field, where the resolution of social issues is one of the main themes of its work, has always referred to this phrase in its current policies. Among them, public cultural facilities, which are one of the administrative policy implementation devices, have been working on the realization of a symbiotic society based on artistic and expressive activities to solve this issue, based on their past activities of art and cultural promotion, In many cases, the term “co-creation” is used to describe these projects.
Leaving aside the question of the appropriateness of the term “co-creation,” it can be assumed that the fields of art, culture, and expression have an affinity with the concept of co-creation in the process of developing relationships with others.
In this organized session, we will introduce examples of “co-creative” projects in public cultural facilities, and discuss whether cultural facilities (not limited to public ones) can be a place for co-creation, with a variety of people involved in co-creative projects, theater professionals, theater We would like to provide a forum for discussion on the theme of whether cultural facilities (not limited to public facilities) can be a place for co-creation.
