Theatre Seminar "Ito-Juku" vol.08 From Hall Park to Hall Town

Theatre Workshop has consistently hosted theatre seminars featuring invited guests.

This year, we are launching a new seminar series, "Ito-Juku," led by our representative, Masaji Ito.

With 50 years of experience in theatre architecture research and extensive involvement in theatre and performance spaces, Masaji Ito will lead each session, focusing on specific themes.

Building on research findings and practical insights, participants will engage in discussions to develop a new theatre model for the 2030s.

Masaji Ito, Representative Director Message

The new stadium of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Escon Field HOKKAIDO, is part of an area that offers much more than just baseball. It has become a ballpark filled with diverse attractions and is named F Village.

Inspired by this ballpark, I envision a Hall Park—a theme park featuring a variety of theatres, plazas, dining facilities, shops, hotels, and more.

As numerous theatres spread across the city, a theatre district will be born. Broadway and the West End are world-renowned theatre districts, while Daehangno in Seoul is a vibrant area with over 100 small theatres. In Tokyo, Hibiya could be seen as the "on-Broadway" area, while Shimokitazawa serves as the "off-Broadway" counterpart.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in a Hall Town—a place where every day is part of an “art-filled city with an art-inspired lifestyle”?
