The Hammond organ has a deep and distinctive tone.
Please enjoy a moment of Christmas spirit with a performance by organist Ayaoki Yamaguchi, whose repertoire ranges from jazz to classical music.
What is the Hammond Organ...
American Lawrence Hammond completed this organ in 1934.
The Hammond organ has a warm analog sound with a distinctive wavering quality, and even today, with the spread of electronic organs, it remains an essential instrument for jazz, rock, and gospel music.
Schedule for performance:
J. S. Bach: O Lord, Joy of Man's Desiring
P. I. Tchaikovsky: From "The Nutcracker"
Composer unknown: Amazing Grace
M. J. Winner: The Brown Vial
J. Horner: My Heart Will Go On from "Titanic"
R. Rodgers: From "The Sound of Music"
Other colorful pieces will be heard.
All of the songs will be performed by the orchestra.
